Apparently the number of advance bookings has been phenominal. From the BBC:
“It’s a forgone conclusion that $100m (£54m) is going to be achieved by the end of the weekend,” said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box office tracker Exhibitor Relations.
An earlier version of the report said that sales were up 66% compared to Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. That’s pretty amazing!
I didn’t get to the midnight screening last night (unlike when Attack of the Clones came out), which kinda bummed me out. It would have been fun. Damn being a responsible parent! With the rush to see it and my other commitments, it’s looking like it’ll be Friday at the earliest before I can go.
