I’m Chris McLeod, and I’m a developer living in Scotland. I work for an international IT Services company, with my main experience and current role being in the Oil & Gas sector. For now, most of my day is spent working on a critical app used by the Oil & Gas industry working in the UKCS and beyond.
Outside of work I have a passion for gadgets, technology, and geek culture (which hopefully this blog reflects!). One day I’d like to write at least one of the several books I have buzzing around my head. I’m a fairly avid reader, when I can find the time. If a book hooks me then I’ve often found myself trying to finish it in one sitting – quite often I do! I’m a fan of tabletop wargames and miniatures, particularly Warhammer 40,000 by Games Workshop (I have started to look at other games such as Warmachine by Privateer Press, as a means to branch-out). It’s a hobby I had as a teenager, put aside for several years, and took back up in 2012. I mostly stick to the modelling and painting side of the hobby, as I find it relaxing and rewarding to work on something creative away from a computer.
Arrived in this world on Valentines Day in 1983. 1999 was the year I started University, from which I graduated in 2002. In 2003, my son was born. In 2005 I suffered a brain haemorrhage that left me partially paralysed for a while, but I still walked down the aisle a few months later. In 2010 my twin daughters were born.
I’m always happy to hear from new people, whether it’s feedback on the site, to say “hi”, or make a suggestion. I’ll even consider reviewing your app, if you’re nice enough. However, if you use this form to send me an unsolicited sales pitch – especially anything about SEO services, then I will rain down on you a righteous fury like you have never before witnessed. Consider yourself warned.
